Flower Expo China Guangzhou rescheduled due to Coronavirus

GUANGZHOU, China: Flower Expo China hosted by the Guangdong Grandeur International Exhibition Group has been rescheduled because of Coronavirus.

The event’s Overseas Supervisor Mae Law told FCI today that the 12th edition of the Flower Expo China , originally scheduled March 16-18 at the Guangzhou International Sourcing Centre, will now be held on May 11-13 at a different venue: the Guangzhou Poly World Trade Centre Expo.

In 2019, the three-day event attracted over 300 exhibitors and a record number of more than 33,000 buyers from home and abroad. Visitors of the Guangzhou show are treated to fresh cut flowers, bonsai trees, succulent plants,  young plants, packaging material, pots, vases, dried flowers, floristry supplies and garden tools.

For the occasion Ms Law thanks industry professionals worldwide for the heart-warming support. “We are closely monitoring the situation,” Law said, “people have returned to work after an extended Lunar New Year holiday. Please rest assured that we will keep you updated of any changes to the current situation.”

Meanwhile, Lei Zhang from Messe Essen says no final decision it taken regarding the dates of Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing of which Messe Essen is one of the co-organisers. “We have sent  the event organisers in China, China Great Wall  International and the China Flower Association a letter asking them to confirm the show’s dates, April 7-9, 2020. We expect a final decision on Friday February 14.”

Ms Haiyan Kong, Director Liaison Department of the China Flower Association comments, “We are currently discussing with the venue owner the posibility of postponing Hortiflorexpo 2020.  When the date is fixed, we will inform the exhibitors and announce the change on the website and wechat of the expo.”
