Floritec has taken an important step in strengthening its role in Latin America’s floriculture sector with the opening of Linda Vista, its new breeding facility in Rionegro, Colombia. Located in the heart of one of the country’s most dynamic chrysanthemum production regions, the facility marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Colombian chrysanthemum breeding.
The official opening is taking place this week during Chrysanthemum Week 35, with Floritec welcoming customers and industry partners to the Floritec Flower Festival. Visitors are discovering an inspiring showcase of Santinis, spray chrysanthemums, and disbuds, reflecting Floritec’s dedication to breeding market-leading and sustainable varieties.
With 6,000 m² dedicated to breeding and trialling, plus a 500 m² quarantine area and clean mother stock production, Linda Vista is designed as a future-proof hub for innovation. Breeding directly in Colombia allows Floritec to develop varieties finely tuned to local conditions while delivering strong performance across the global supply chain.
