Belgian horticultural trade show Florall and Dutch amenity plant show GrootGroenPlus today announced plans to accelerate and enhance collaboration to boost respective growth.
Florall is a bi-annual event hosted by Expo Waregem, with an spring and autumn edition happening in March and August respectively. GrootGroenPlus is known for being Europe’s most significant amenity plant show annually taking place in Zundert in the beginning of October.
Both exhibitions have been working together since 2012, exchanging and showcasing each other’s new plants and using their respective marketing networks.
The news is that effective this year, Florall’s plant novelties will automatically be vying for GrootGroenPlus’s Green Grand Prix awards, plus both trade shows agreed to expand GrootGroenPlus’ online and bi-lingual trade show supplement Kwekersbode by adding content from Belgium’s voice of the horticultural industry AVBS.
Meanwhile, following a brainstorming session between board members of Florall and GGP on 6 April, it became clear that both events can be more successful by pinpointing exactly who the quality prospects and industry professionals are that need to be addressed. Stakeholders also made clear that Belgium and the Netherlands have a thriving hardy nursery stock sector. They make natural partners in ornamental horticulture and in organising trade events such as Florall and GrootGroenPlus they should remain plant-focused.
The next edition for Florall and GrootGroenPlus are set for 22 August 2023 and 4-6 October 2023, respectively.
