Ethiopia’s Ministry of Agriculture has allocated 1.3 billion dollars and 156 billion Br to procure 2.4 million tonnes of DAP and Urea fertilisers for the current year.
However, the supply still falls short of regional states’ demands, revealing a structural issue in imports and distribution. Global market fluctuations and transportation issues have impacted fertiliser imports, potentially leading to declined usage and negatively impacting crop yields.
