Euroflora 2025: Ars Urbana finalists to showcase global innovation in Genoa

From 24 April to 4 May 2025, the XIII edition of Euroflora, one of the most prestigious events in the horticultural calendar, will transform Genoa’s revitalised Waterfront of Levante into a spectacular showcase of landscape innovation, sustainability, and artistic expression. Approved by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), Euroflora 2025 is set to captivate visitors with its blend of floral artistry, cutting-edge design, and ecological vision.

At the heart of this global event is the Ars Urbana design competition, featuring 14 groundbreaking projects that address pressing environmental issues while exploring themes of rebirth, sustainability, and the evolving relationship between humans and nature. These designs, selected for their originality and depth, will be judged by a second expert jury on 23 April, just one day before the exhibition opens to the public.

Ars Urbana: A Celebration of Visionary Design

As jury president Anna Sessarego, president of AIAPP Liguria, explained: “The proposed concepts are interesting and innovative, with diverse depths of content, developed in projects through narratives and suggestions that interpret art as human action in shaping nature aesthetically within the urban context.”

Sessarego highlighted the competition’s focus on the changing paradigm of human-nature interaction, where nature becomes the protagonist, compelling humans to adapt their practices to align with its laws. The selected projects range from those emphasising the protection of natural processes to others demonstrating the creative use of sustainable and recycled materials.
