Euroflora 2018

GENOA, Italy:Euroflora 2018, which will be held in Genoa, in the Parks of Nervi, from 21 April to 6 May, has just announced“Meraviglia nei parchi”, a competition open to designers and creatives for the design and arrangement of a garden as part of Euroflora 2018.

The competition is targeted to architects, agronomists, naturalists, engineers, garden designers, gardeners, artists and creatives of all nationalities, and will consist of two different sections: one open to professionals, the other to participants under the age of 25.

The selected designers – either individuals or groups – will have available an area at the flower show where they can implement their project. Projects admitted to the competition will have to be implemented by, and at the expenses of, the selected participants, who will be allowed to resort to sponsorships or establish cooperation projects. Euroflora will make available the garden areas for free. The projects will then be assessed by a Jury of experts consisting of one member from the Superintendency for Archaeology, Fine Arts, and the Landscape of Genoa Metropolitan City and the provinces of Imperia, La Spezia, and Savona; one member from the Register of Architects, Town Planners, Landscape Designers, and Conservatorsof the Province of Genoa; one member from the Register of Agronomists and Forest Managers of Genoa and Savona; one member appointed by AIAPP (Associazione italiana di Architettura del Paesaggio – Italian Landscape Architecture Association), as well as Euroflora Designer Architect.

The awarding ceremony awarding the best projects will be held during the event (between 21 April and 6 May). The overall prize amount will be €39,000, divided over three prizes in each category.

The winners will be selected based on the level of innovation, creativity, consistency of the design concept, interpretation and valorisation of the surrounding context, feasibility and easy maintenance of the garden.

All projects shall be submitted by Friday 16 March, 24.00 (midnight).
