Preparations well underway for HortiFlora Expo Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia: Less than 2 months remain until the HortiFlora Expo will again take place in the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa. With the last event held in 2015, it has been four years since the Ethiopian horticulture and floriculture industry had the opportunity to represent itself at home in this international trade fair.

Interest from exhibitors has grown rapidly in recent months and as a result over one hundred companies will be exhibiting. In addition to a high number of Ethiopian-based companies, a large number of international companies have booked stand space at the event. This international interest indicates an increasing trust in Ethiopian horticulture and floriculture and reflects the growing rate of investment into the country’s sector.

Specialised trade fairs provide a useful thermometer for the state of the industry that they promote. “Having a ‘full-house’ with exhibitors already at this stage for this year’s HortiFlora, is a good sign and increases chances considerably for a successful trade fair”, Dick van Raamsdonk, spokesman of the fair said, when asked about the outlook of the fair.
