Dümmen Orange launches deep-red Tacazzi+ rose, targets African market

DE LIER, Netherlands: Dümmen Orange, the world’s largest breeder and propagator of cut flowers, bulbs, tropical plants, pot plants, bedding plants and perennials, has launched a burgundy red rose. Its new Tacazzi+® rose targets the African rose market. Dümmen Orange points to Tacazzi+’s deep-red colour, ruffled petal edges and  long shelf life.

Dümmen Orange is introducing the new rose in association with Ethiopian-based rose grower Holla Roses. The novelty rose combines well with other colours, but is also a beautiful appearance in mono bouquets. Red Tacazzi+ practically has no thorns and has of 14 day vase life. The rose has a firm bud of over 4 centimetres and is available in different lengths with a stem size up to 80 centimetres.

The original cerise-coloured rose Tacazzi+ was launched back in 2015 and became an instant hit. During the growing process, several additional colours popped up over time. These were successfully introduced by Dümmen Orange as the varieties pink Tacazzi+, Sweet Tacazzi+ and Peach Tacazzi+. In 2019, a beautiful red variety coincidently appeared on a farm in Ethiopia. An employee of Holla Roses noticed the special flower and secured it for shipment to Dümmen Orange.
