CIOPORA announces third ‘Breeding for a Changing Climate Forum’

HAMBURG, Germany: CIOPORA, the International Association of Breeders of Asexually Reproduced Ornamental and Fruit Varieties, will host members and friends from around the world on 14 September 2021 at the third edition of its ‘Breeding for a Changing Climate Forum’.

Departing from the strictly IP-oriented topics, the virtual event will address another pressing issue – climate change. While we are witnessing its impact on our everyday lives, let’s explore what it means for horticulture, and how innovation in plant breeding can help society deal with its detrimental effects.

The virtual conference will bring together innovative breeders from the ornamental and fruit sectors, as well as intellectual property (IP) experts, to discuss climate change and the current system of IP protection for plant innovation.
