With more than 220 booths, the exhibit floor at the autumn edition of Plantarium|Groen-Direkt 2024 is sold out, but space in the show’s novelty showcase remains available.
Running this week, between 21-22 August 2024, this year’s autumn edition of Plantarium|Groen-Direkt at Groen-Direkt in Hazerswoude-Dorp will offer green professionals from home and abroad the opportunity to browse an extensive range of trees, shrubs, garden plants and annuals.
Show organiser Marjolein Wieckardt from Green Retail Events is pleased with the strong bookings, including 40 first-time exhibitors. She says that adding tent structures for catering and networking has increased floor space by 10 per cent.
On 18 July 2024, the show reached capacity for its upcoming autumn edition. There will be 228 exhibitors, 20 per cent of whom will come from abroad.
Plantarium|Groen-Direkt’s exhibit floor is 4,000m², while the event spans a total area of 10,000m², including Groen-Direkt’s nursery stock sales event.
Now in its third year, the autumn edition of Plantarium|Groen-Direkt will be abuzz with activity, gathering expert plant growers and specialist nurseries to sell a complete, directly available range of nursery stock products and garden plants.
The autumn edition of Plantarium|Groen-Direkt is arguably one of Europe’s largest wholesale plant/nursery stock sales events featuring 5,000 sample batches of plants on raised beds and a ‘Danish trolley fair’. The latter allows Groen-Direkt’s 1,000 active European buyers to buy plants in smaller quantities, that is, per Danish trolley layer.
A new feature to look forward to in this year’s event includes the Plantarium|Groen-Direkt Patio, a designated indoor and outdoor space that can be used for discussing plans for the upcoming seasons and meeting long-term friends and new business prospects.
Plantarium|Groen-Direkt is the definitive event for European garden retail, offering the perfect launch platform for new plants. Recognising the sector’s extensive breeding and selection work in new plants, its inspiring marketing concepts and plants with the ‘wow factor’ are three sets of awards.
Arguably, the show’s most prestigious awards (read: medals) are handed out by Boskoop’s Royal Horticulture Society (KVBC). The KVBC Awards are the beating heart of the AIPH-approved Plantarium|Groen-Direkt show showcasing the best in new plant introductions from plant suppliers. In 2023, KVBC judges voted unanimously for Diervilla splendens Kodiak Mixx, submitted by Valkplant.
The trade show is also the place to find the best marketing concept. Last year, Precious Earth, a range of moss planters designed to fit any space or lifestyle and grown by Vof de Leeuw den Engelsen/Garden Treasures from Someren, scooped up the 2023 Green Concept Award.
Finally, the show presents a third awards category: the People’s Choice Awards, chosen by attendees voting on the show floor. Hydrangea Living Little Rosy, submitted by Hinrichs Pflanzen, won this accolade in 2023.
