Asia in Bloom: Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai 2025 Opens Its Doors

From today (10th) until 12th April 2025, the Shanghai New International Expo Centre becomes the vibrant hub for the green sector in Asia and beyond as Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai 2025 opens its 27th edition. Organised by the China Flower Association—a valued member of AIPH—together with Shanghai Intex, this year’s fair welcomes approximately 700 exhibitors from around the globe.

As an international partner, Messe Essen, the organiser of IPM ESSEN, plays a vital role in supporting the fair’s delivery. Their collaboration continues to elevate the global standing of this landmark event in China’s horticultural calendar.

Held across 50,000 square metres of exhibition space (Halls E1 to E4), the show features strong international representation, including national pavilions from Germany, the Netherlands, and Japan, alongside regional pavilions from Chinese provinces. These showcases emphasise the global reach and regional richness of the event.

“Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai offers companies a first-class platform to present their innovations to an international audience and to establish meaningful business contacts throughout Asia,” says Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen.

Beyond the trade floor, a comprehensive supporting programme reinforces the fair’s status as a knowledge-sharing platform. Highlights include the Horticulture Forum, focusing on sustainable innovation; the Greenhouse Forum on smart agriculture; and the Flower Shop Forum, exploring marketing strategies for florists. Additional sessions, such as the Landscape Forum and Flower Border Forum, further enrich the event with discussions on design and artistry.

Visitors can also enjoy the immersive floral show-themed “Future Flower World”, where renowned florists from China and abroad blend tradition and modernity in stunning floral displays.
