German seed breeder Benary has appointed Arun Sharma as Global Head of Breeding.
Arun Sharma is known in our industry as a personality with an extremely solid breeding background, a proven track record in leading positions and a very good understanding of the specific strengths and values of a family business like Benary.
On 15 March 2023, Arun joined Benary. He operates out of the Watsonville facility in California, from where he leads Benary´s global breeding activities. Further to that he will join Benary’s top management as member of the Executive Management Team.
Born and raised in India, Arun Sharma moved to the United States 20 years ago after obtaining a Ph.D. in plant breeding from CCS Haryana Agricultural University.
His professional experience enabled him to take on plant breeding and leadership roles in academia and the seed industry. Arun’s career as plant breeder for Sakata Seed and Regional Breeding Director for PanAmerican Seed led him to his new position as Global Head of Breeding at Benary.
