Alexandra Farms presents five new garden roses for the wedding season

BOGOTA, Colombia: Alexandra Farms, the world’s largest grower of fresh cut garden roses, proudly announces the availability of five new garden rose varieties just in time for this year’s wedding season. This year’s addition bring in new shapes, bold colours, and heavenly fragrances that are already sure to seduce brides and designers around the world.

Among the new releases are three varieties belonging to the farm’s Deluxe Garden Rose Collection.

‘Quicksand’, with its sophisticated and on-trend sand and cream colours, has a large, spiral-shaped bloom. ‘Sahara Sensation’ is also new this year. The rose features a sandy, faintly golden colour, and petals that unfold in scalloped waves with hints of pink around the edges. Commonly grown as a spray rose, the variety is grown at our farm in Colombia as a regular-sized garden rose. Finally, ‘Amnesia’ stands out for its extraordinary tones that shift from dusty lavender to pale grey-green. Alexandra Farms began shipping this variety in late 2019.

The company has also added two new Princess varieties to its portfolio. These roses have been created by three rose breeders from Japan. ‘Princess Kaori’ (pictured) has an extraordinary blueish lavender colour, a large bloom and a sweet fragrance of lavender. Alexandra Farm’s  first spray variety is called ‘Princess Midori’ (Green). Each stem of this unique rose bears at least four or five small blooms in a unique, intense green shade. This variety lends a lively burst of energy to any arrangement. Both varieties are exclusively grown by Alexandra Farms.

Alexandra Farms also grows the Miyabi, Senlitsu and Tsumagi varieties from Japanese rose breeder Wabara.

Alexandra Farms is continually searching for garden rose varieties worthy of a welcome into their family of fragrant, romantic cut roses for weddings and everyday designs. No rose will be accepted that does not meet the minimum standard of a 10-day vase life after it has been nurtured, harvested, carefully packaged and shipped under the care of the team in Bogotá, Colombia.
