AIPH OPENS GLOBAL PLANT HEALTH DEBATE

AIPH Spring Meeting – 23 January 2017, Ratingen, Germany

The International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) invites growers and industry associations from around the world to join its discussion on the plant health challenges facing growers in different countries.

The meeting, which will take place on 23 January 2017 in Ratingen, near Dusseldorf in Germany, will hear presentations from Europe, North and South America and Asia on the challenges for growers, what is being done and what needs to change.

Martin Ward, Director General of the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organisation (EPPO) will also present to the meeting the role of the organisation and how it can work more closely with industry to reduce plant health threats.In addition, presentations from AIPH members will take place on ‘Green City’ initiatives in their countries and an opportunity to network with trade organisation leaders from around the globe.

Those attending also have the option to join a trip to the nearby IPM Essen 2017 trade fair and to enjoy the AIPH International Grower of the Year Awards 2017 gala dinner in Essen on 24 January.

Speaking about the event AIPH Secretary General, Tim Briercliffe said: “Holding our event near Essen in 2017 gives us the opportunity to share what we are doing with many other grower representatives from around the world and we warmly invite them to join us and tie in this extra day alongside a visit to the great IPM Essen trade fair”.
